Bus Stops Need Updates

We don’t necessarily need bus stops that look like this designer one in New York City, but every bus rider deserves a dry place to stand out of the wind and rain on winter days.

The weather here in NJ has been dreadful since early this morning. It is cold and raining.

Ironically, most of the bus stops near my home are either leaky or totally lack space for more than three people to stand out of the weather.

It would be nice on a day like today to have some shelter from the rain, especially since buses only run once an hour on Sundays due to budget cuts! My main complaint in the summer is that it is hot, and there’s no shade from the sun.

Could transit operators offer free advertising to companies if they install bus shelters at bus stops? Would that help increase ridership? What are your thoughts?
